I read Kaho Sugimoto's blog. Studying vocabulary is hard for me and I'm poor at words learned. I often memorize using the way which I write the word many times. However I think this is bad way,because I often forget the meaning of words using this way. Kaho said reputation is viral for studying vocabulary. I think so too. I have to study vocabulary more. When I study words, I would like to write the word on paper and read aloud it many times. I think it is good way to check again the word which I studied before.

Hello:) I studiead about what we should wear when we go to oral examination in English Central. When I use Englsih Central on my PC, it is always not good connection; it's too slowly, and sometimes it stops, so I grew impatient and it takes a lot of time. Anyway, the topics was interesting. In Japan, it is commmon that wearing white shirt, and black suit. while in US, we are able to choose color, but colorful one is not so good. US is less stricly than Japan. I like US style, since I'm able to show my originality. Thank you.

Hello, Dan. I’ll hand in this week’s blog. Please collect it! 1, I specially effort to do the speak part. I achieved the aim of percentage only after this Monday. I was worried about that I cannot take points of the speaking. But in this week’s class, I could take its points. So I thank this week’s class. 2, I think that they look to change my word’s ability, but finally I was not changed. For example, when I saw the antonym of words, I admired. But I forgot it while a little time. So I’m sorry that I can’t feel its advantages and charms.
1. I did watching video the most. I saw many many videos, and I was most interested in howcast movies. That tells about how to make garlic toast, or how to give a good impressions to the people and so on. I know howcast movies since I was grade1, and I like its unique movies very much!! Also I want to do more speaking.
2. Honestly I don't care about a part of speech very much. But I noticed that when we study vocabulary, we have to care about those things. and many means of one word. Then we could know more about the word. That's important I think.

You are making a very important observation about studying vocabulary and that is the fact one word can have so many meanings, so it's a good idea to focus on the part of speech of that word and then studyin it's various meanings as that part of speech. Even when we study the part of speech of that word we can be shocked to find out that it has a completely different meaning as a verb than it does as a noun, for example.
Hello,Dan! 1. I did watching and the pronunciation program. I saw many videos about job interviews. Those videos are so funny. I could see the bad manners of job interviews. Those bad manners are rather funny. I don't want to imitate it! Those videos are good for us.
2. I didn't care about GSL lists and AWL lists and so on, because it is all one could do just to learn words. I have to learn about word profiles. If i can do it, I can speak and write English more fluently.
1, This week, I'm watching news videos. Especially, VOA news is easy to listen and understand. These news casters have very good pronunciation, so I can repeat after easier. i interested in Aung san suu kiy 's speech. I would like to watch the video like this. Also, I like ghibli's videos!!
2, At first, I thought the vocabulary profile could help me to improve my vocabulary's ability. But, now, I don't use much. Because, if the word I checked at vocabprofile was in off list, I think, "Oh, this word is not so important." But, there are so many many words. So sometime we have to use this lists to study more efficiency.

You make a good point about low frequency (off-list) words being important. What's important is finding a balance in the different frequencies of words that you study. If you only study low frequency words then it won't feel as rewarding when you read or hear English because the chances of seeing those words won't appear very often. In my case, when I study high frequency kanji I get really excited when I see that kanji again the very next day after I study it. What makes me excited is that I feel I made a good decision to study such an important kanji and secondly, but more importantly, I KNOW what the word means and I feel I have better control over what I don't understand and what I DO understand!!
1. What did you study in English Central this week? (Be specific about the content of the videos that you are watching.) I watched announcements of movies especially Jiburi. I feel enpressions were little bit different from Japanese one. I think it is because points that we feel funny are different between Japanese and Western. Vocabulary were easy, so I'll chose more diffficult video next time.
2. There are many things to consider when studying vocabulary such as the .... I think English Central is best one to study vocablary, because I watch interesting videos so it is easy to remember when I should use new words. I'm able to study words in sentence, not only words. I think it's very important. Just looking words is hard to remember after that.

She said she can't speak the sound of "ae" and some other sound. If I had some difficult sound that I could'nt speak, I would not collect these things with searching the pronounciation signs. I read Kaho Sugimoto's blog. Studying vocabulary is hard for me and I'm poor at words learned. I often memorize using the way which I write the word many times. However I think this is bad way,because I often forget the meaning of words using this way. Kaho said

ReplyDeleteI watched some kinds of topics, `Animal Forecasters',`An importance of water',and `A recipe of Microwave Chocolate Cake' and a topic on Dick Clark and more! An importance of water and Animal Forecasters were what I didn't know.So,they're good lesson and interesting contents for me.It's important for me study such things,too.A recipe of Microwave Chocolate Cake was very useful for me to try to cook from now on.I want to try it right away! `Seeing red'was a close relationship for us. I found each color makes our feelings happy,or sometime serious, sad and so on, and also colors are interesting for me.I like colorful things like pink, yellow,light blue or orange very much!, for they always make my feeling happy! The reason why I was interested in the video, Olympic is one of the most enjoyable events for me! ...But in London, people who live in there are not interested in Olympic. That is unbelievable for me.
By the way, the words in this video was very easy to understand. But I couldn't pronounce frequently. So I want to try this video again!

ReplyDeleteI studiead about what we should wear when we go to oral examination in English Central. When I use Englsih Central on my PC, it is always not good connection; it's too slowly, and sometimes it stops, so I grew impatient and it takes a lot of time. Anyway, the topics was interesting. In Japan, it is commmon that wearing white shirt, and black suit. while in US, we are able to choose color, but colorful one is not so good. US is less stricly than Japan. I like US style, since I'm able to show my originality.

ReplyDelete1, I specially effort to do the speak part. I achieved the aim of percentage only after this Monday. I was worried about that I cannot take points of the speaking. But in this week’s class, I could take its points. So I thank this week’s class.
2, I think that they look to change my word’s ability, but finally I was not changed. For example, when I saw the antonym of words, I admired. But I forgot it while a little time. So I’m sorry that I can’t feel its advantages and charms.

ReplyDelete1. I did watching video the most. I saw many many videos, and I was most interested in howcast movies. That tells about how to make garlic toast, or how to give a good impressions to the people and so on. I know howcast movies since I was grade1, and I like its unique movies very much!! Also I want to do more speaking.
2. Honestly I don't care about a part of speech very much. But I noticed that when we study vocabulary, we have to care about those things. and many means of one word. Then we could know more about the word. That's important I think.

You are making a very important observation about studying vocabulary and that is the fact one word can have so many meanings, so it's a good idea to focus on the part of speech of that word and then studyin it's various meanings as that part of speech. Even when we study the part of speech of that word we can be shocked to find out that it has a completely different meaning as a verb than it does as a noun, for example.

ReplyDelete1. I did watching and the pronunciation program. I saw many videos about job interviews. Those videos are so funny. I could see the bad manners of job interviews. Those bad manners are rather funny. I don't want to imitate it! Those videos are good for us.
2. I didn't care about GSL lists and AWL lists and so on, because it is all one could do just to learn words. I have to learn about word profiles. If i can do it, I can speak and write English more fluently.

1, This week, I'm watching news videos. Especially, VOA news is easy to listen and understand. These news casters have very good pronunciation, so I can repeat after easier. i interested in Aung san suu kiy 's speech. I would like to watch the video like this. Also, I like ghibli's videos!!
2, At first, I thought the vocabulary profile could help me to improve my vocabulary's ability. But, now, I don't use much. Because, if the word I checked at vocabprofile was in off list, I think, "Oh, this word is not so important." But, there are so many many words. So sometime we have to use this lists to study more efficiency.

You make a good point about low frequency (off-list) words being important. What's important is finding a balance in the different frequencies of words that you study. If you only study low frequency words then it won't feel as rewarding when you read or hear English because the chances of seeing those words won't appear very often. In my case, when I study high frequency kanji I get really excited when I see that kanji again the very next day after I study it. What makes me excited is that I feel I made a good decision to study such an important kanji and secondly, but more importantly, I KNOW what the word means and I feel I have better control over what I don't understand and what I DO understand!!

I watched announcements of movies especially Jiburi. I feel enpressions were little bit different from Japanese one. I think it is because points that we feel funny are different between Japanese and Western. Vocabulary were easy, so I'll chose more diffficult video next time.

I think English Central is best one to study vocablary, because I watch interesting videos so it is easy to remember when I should use new words. I'm able to study words in sentence, not only words. I think it's very important. Just looking words is hard to remember after that.
